How can one seed change everything? For me, Maryon Park Community Garden was that seed. At first, I wasn’t sure how to combine horticulture with community healing, but when I discovered this warm space, it became the starting point for my dream.

The garden is home to many residents from all around the world, each bringing their own unique stories and backgrounds. Two seasoned gardeners have been tending to the land for years, sharing their horticultural knowledge and life lessons with the community. What’s truly moving is that, despite the language differences, the residents communicate effortlessly using translation apps. Even those who cannot speak English still feel connected, as their shared love for gardening bridges the gap and creates a strong sense of belonging.

I feel incredibly fortunate to hold my first workshop event in such a warm and hopeful space. This is not only my first collaboration with this community, but also the beginning of bringing the power of horticultural therapy to others. Through this workshop, I hope to create a space where the residents can learn, share, and heal. Whether they are immigrants or locals, everyone can find a sense of peace and hope in this green space.
Here, not only are seeds of plants planted, but also seeds of mutual understanding and support between people. With that in mind, I’m excited to announce that in the spring of 2025, I will be launching my project—AA Garden—and hosting a series of workshops.
This is not only my first deep collaboration with the community, but also a space of support for those who may feel fatigued by life or face language challenges. Whether you live, work, or study in Greenwich, AA Garden invites you to join us. Together, through gardening, we will feel the power of life and rediscover inner peace and hope.
If you’re interested in this project or would like to learn more, feel free to contact me anytime. Whoever you are, AA Garden welcomes you to join us at aagardenuk@outlook.com.
